Jorge Villarroya Greschuhna new president of the Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Zaragoza
On 23 June 2022, Jorge Villarroya Greschuhna, CEO of Industrias Químicas del Ebro (IQE), was appointed president of the Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Zaragoza, a position he will hold for the next four years. During his candidacy, he will be accompanied on the executive committee by Berta Lorente Torrano (Zaforsa) and María López Palacín (Industrias López Soriano) as vice-presidents; Enrique Barbero Lahoz (Ibercaja), as treasurer; and Íñigo de Yarza López-Madrazo (Henneo), Álvaro Solans García (Pikolin) and Ignacio Montaner Gutiérrez (Endesa), who will be the committees. Villarroya wants to create new alliances and strategies to support companies in internationalisation, innovation and wealth creation.
IQE participates in DKT 2021, the largest trade fair for the rubber industry
IQE participated in the rubber fair DKT 2021 in Nuremberg, Germany, together with its representative in the country NGS Elastomer. This fair brings together the leading companies in the rubber sector in Europe and internationally and, due to the pandemic, was held from 27 to 30 June 2022. According to DKT, a “record level” of attendance was achieved this year.

IQE awarded again with the EcoVadis Gold Medal
Industrias Químicas del Ebro has once again received the Gold Medal of the EcoVadis certification, a recognition that positions it as a benchmark in sustainability. EcoVadis evaluates and monitors the management and scope of Corporate Social Responsibility of companies and offers tools to promote its improvement. The EcoVadis rating methodology is based on Corporate Social Responsibility criteria structured in four main categories: Environment, Labor Practices and Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement. These criteria follow international Social Responsibility standards.

Industrias Químicas del Ebro will be present together with Kadion-Alterkem at Eurocoat 2022, which will be held in Paris from March 29 to 31. Eurocoat is one of the most important European events dedicated to the production and formulation of paints, varnishes, printing inks, glues and adhesives. For 3 days, more than 200 suppliers, producers and distributors of coatings, raw materials, equipment and services meet to show the latest developments and trends in the sector. SIMAL collaborates with the TEKNIKER Foundation in a project financed by the Provincial Council of Bizkaia
IQE Group works to improve and innovate its product portfolio and establishes a collaboration with the TEKNIKER Foundation in a project to improve Aluminum Silicate. This project has been carried out from SIMAL and has been financed by the Provincial Council of Bizkaia within the 2021 Technological Checkup Program and has co-financing from the ERDF.
IQE develops the IDIS-REACT Project subsidized by the DGA, with REACT-EU funds
In order to relaunch industrial activity, the Government of Aragon launched in 2021 the Plan de Ayudas para la Industria Digital, Innovadora y Sostenible (IDIS-REACT Line) financed through the European Recovery Aid initiative for Cohesion and the Territories of Europe (REACT-EU); within the Programa de Ayuda a la Industria y la PYME (PAIP) and within the framework of the Estrategia Aragonesa para la Recuperación Social y Económica. Industrias Químicas del Ebro S.A. (IQE) has developed a subsidized Project within the IDIS-REACT Line with the general objective of consolidating a business and growth model in IQE, aligning the general objectives of the call to its activities, moving towards a model of sustainable development, reduction of emissions and ecological transition in the industry, implementing Circular Economy strategies. In particular, these initiatives were aimed at achieving the following challenges: The IDIS-REACT line of support has sought to support industrial strategies that have had differentiated potential of added value, economic or social, encouraging these through the promotion of productive investment, the development of R&D projects and innovation in organization and processes.The call has been aimed at: a) promoting the digital transformation of companies in all possible aspects, including the concept of Industry 4.0; b) actions related to a contribution towards the objectives of a green and more sustainable industrial activity, supporting projects that incorporate the concept of the circular economy into industry processes, or c) the development of industrial logistics chains and targeted actions to a transition and energy efficiency in the processes.
