A consortium of companies in the chemical sector signs a contract with DCTI to receive funding from the NANOINTECH project

UN CONSORCIO DE EMPRESAS DEL SECTOR QUÍMICO FIRMA CON CDTI EL CONTRATO PARA RECIBIR FINANCIACIÓN DEL PROYECTO NANOINTECH

Last Wednesday, April 15, the signing of the contract for the NanoInTech project took place at the CDTI offices. The execution of this project will be financed through the CDTI’s Strategic Program for National Business Research Consortia (CIEN). Industrias Químicas del Ebro S.A. participates in this project, composed of 7 companies (5 large, 1 medium and 1 micro company) from different areas of the country and from different sectors, with the participation of 5 PROs (Instituto Tecnológico de Aragón, Universidad de Zaragoza, ITENE, IK4-CIDETEC and IK4-TENNIKER); all of them with a common interest and strategy, nanotechnology.

The project will be financed through this program, co-financed with ERDF funds, through a loan of around 6 million euros and a grant of 1,700,000 euros, over a period of 4 years.

NanoInTech aims to develop nanomaterials suitable for application in different sectors in a safe and efficient manner, in order to facilitate the market introduction of these newly developed materials.

The new nanomaterials will be graphene, metal oxide nanoparticles and laminated and crystalline silicates, and will be applied in lubricants, conductive inks, reinforced plastics, nano-additivated coatings and reinforced rubbers, all while maintaining safe toxicological and ecotoxicological conditions.

IQE, with extensive experience in the production of silicates, precipitated silica and layered silicates, aims to develop materials that improve the properties of reinforced polymer composites that are currently used in numerous applications. An example of silica-reinforced composites is tires, in which the use of precipitated silica has demonstrated improvements in properties such as grip on wet and cold pavement and reduced vehicle fuel consumption.1.
